MOLLOY TO ADOPT INDOOR AND OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD FOR 2009-10 CAMPAIGN
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Nov. 24, 2008) - On Monday, Molloy College Director of Athletics Susan Cassidy-Lyke announced that the Lions will be adding four varsity teams for the 2009-10 season. Al Kilfoyle, who also serves as the head coach for the cross country teams, will direct the school's first-ever indoor and outdoor men's and women's track and field teams. With these new additions, Molloy will have 16 Division II varsity sports.
"I think that this is going to change the perspective on running on Long Island", said Kilfoyle. "All the runners from the area used to go away because there aren't many schools that have track and field. Now, these student-athletes can stay close to home by coming to compete for Molloy."
