CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jul. 21, 2009) - Last Thursday, the Molloy College dance team showed off its moves in a performance prior to the Long Island Ducks' 7:05 p.m. contest against the Lancaster Barnstormers at Citibank Park in Central Islip, N.Y. After that, the dancers sat with their parents in their seats to watch the game. Plus, Molloy celebrated its annual Alumni Night, and had the pleasure of hosting 250-plus former students.
In the match-up, Long Island edged out Lancaster by a final score of 5-4 in walk-off fashion. Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Ray Navarrete and Victor Rodriguez each batted RBI singles off of former Florida Marlins reliever Antonio Alfonseca to earn the victory. Bill Simas got the win for the Ducks in the decision, although he surrendered the go-ahead run to the Barnstormers in the top-half of the inning.
