Dr. Brian Neri, MD

Dr. Brian Neri attended Boston College for his undergraduate education, and received his medical degree from Loyola University at Chicago, where he was honored with induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases. In Neri's time there, he was an administrative chief resident and was awarded the resident teaching award.
Neri subsequently completed an extra year of fellowship training in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, Calif. During his fellowship, Neri served as a physician at Loyola Marymount University, and associate team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Sparks and part of the medical staff for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Avengers and USC Football.
Neri also received the Kerlan-Jobe Clinical Research Award for his research on superior labral tears in professional overhead throwers. While he treats all musculoskeletal conditions, Neri's practice is focused on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery with particular interest in shoulder replacement surgery, rotator cuff tears/labral tears, ACL tears, and disorders of the hip (labral tears/femoracetabular impingement/gluteus tears/snapping hip).
He has published and lectured on topics ranging from the
management of massive rotator cuff tears to superior labral tears
in elite overhead athletes. He is currently the team
orthopaedist for the New York Islanders and orthopedic consultant
to Hofstra University, Molloy College and the U.S. Open.
